On the night of May 21, 2021, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Jason Hood Crutcher, a 26-year-old Black male, was fatally shot. The tragic incident unfolded at approximately 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of Brinkerhoff Street and Crescent Avenue. Crutcher was inside a vehicle with five other individuals when two assailants opened fire on the car. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and extremities.
