In the early morning hours of Friday, June 3, 2022, the life of 37-year-old Melja T. Oliver of East Orange, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. At approximately 12:51 a.m., police were called to the 500 block of Main Street, where they discovered Oliver on the sidewalk, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:31 a.m.
