In the early hours of a summer morning in Bridgeton, New Jersey, a dispute in the parking lot of the Maple Gardens apartment complex turned deadly, claiming the life of 36-year-old Herbert R. Lee Jr. The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. on July 30, 2022, when a fight broke out, punctuated by the sound of gunfire. Lee, a father of six, reportedly stepped in to intervene in the altercation.
