Kevon Williams, a 24-year-old man, was fatally shot on a Sunday morning in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on the 100 block of Cottage Avenue, where Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting led authorities to identify 19-year-old James E. Snead Jr. as the suspect. Following the incident, law enforcement officials stated that a weapon was not recovered from the scene and advised that Snead should be considered 'armed and
dangerous.' After nearly a week on the run, Snead turned himself in to the police.
Subsequent to his surrender, James E. Snead Jr. was charged with murder and weapons offenses in connection with the death of Kevon Williams. The state announced its intention to seek his detainment as the investigation into the shooting continues.
