William Gulak, a 50-year-old male, tragically lost his life in a violent encounter on December 30, 1978, in Jackson, Michigan. On that fateful day, Gulak, a conductor, was inside a railroad depot with two of his colleagues, 42-year-old flagman Robert Lee Blake and 32-year-old fireman Charles Lee Burton.
