Lee Floyd Berry, a 26-year-old black male, was killed on June 23, 1987, by Officer Joseph Hall of the Detroit Police Department's 11th precinct. The incident began when Officer Hall pursued Berry for reckless driving and traffic violations. According to Hall's report, the chase ended at Berry's home, where Hall ordered Berry to exit his vehicle. The situation escalated, resulting in Hall shooting Berry.
