On November 14, 1991, Keith Ciszewski, a 37-year-old White male, was tragically killed during a mass shooting at the post office in Royal Oak, Michigan. The gunman was identified as Thomas McIlvane, a former postal worker who had been fired for insubordination. His dismissal had been finalized just days before the attack, following an appeal process.
