Aiyana Mo'Nay Stanley-Jones, a seven-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on May 16, 2010, during a police raid conducted by the Detroit Police Department's Special Response Team. The raid was aimed at apprehending a murder suspect, Chauncey Owens, who was believed to be hiding in the same building where Aiyana lived.
