On a tragic day in Detroit, Michigan, 29-year-old Michael 'Mike' Butler was found dead, the victim of a violent encounter that also claimed the lives of two others. It was on June 27, 2015, that the bodies of Michael, his 37-year-old brother Jathan 'JD' Butler, and 24-year-old Cathleen Rudolph were discovered inside a southwest Detroit apartment. All three had been fatally shot in what authorities investigated as a triple homicide.
