On a summer evening in Shelbyville, Michigan, the life of 34-year-old Steven Michael Kauffman, a White male, was tragically cut short. On July 21, 2015, Kauffman was found shot to death in the middle of a road in the vicinity of Gun Lake. The discovery of his body, lying near his silver SUV, sent ripples of shock through the quiet community.
