In the early morning hours of March 5, 2016, a night planned for playing cards with a relative turned tragic for Antoinne Murphy Jr., a 25-year-old man from Flint, Michigan. While driving with two passengers, Murphy's vehicle was suddenly riddled with bullets, leading to his death and the car crashing into a house on Dupont Street. An investigation revealed that Murphy sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his head and upper back in the unprovoked attack.
