Death by Force

Matthew Lyle McMillen, an 18-year-old resident of Jackson County, Michigan, was fatally shot on June 8, 2016, in Springport Township. McMillen, along with another 18-year-old, Hunter Scott Lentz, was involved in an alleged break-in at a home on Town Road. The homeowner, Tracy Lawrence, confronted the two teens during the break-in and shot them with a .22 rifle. The bodies of McMillen and Lentz were found near the rural home after police responded to a call from the resident.
