In the early hours of Labor Day in Flint, Michigan, on September 4, 2017, the life of 23-year-old Donquel Lamar Jackson was tragically cut short. A triple shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on Dartmouth Avenue, on the city's west side, where Jackson was one of the victims. He was pronounced dead at Hurley Medical Center.
Donquel, born in Flint on December 13, 1993, was a father and a United States Army veteran who had served from 2013 to 2015.
After his honorable discharge, he worked as a truck driver. He was known for his enjoyment of cooking, working on cars, and renovating homes.
The shooting incident that claimed Donquel Lamar Jackson's life also resulted in the death of 22-year-old Dearyes Cory-Jevonta Scott. A third individual was also shot but survived the attack and was reported to be in good condition at a local hospital.
