On the opening day of deer hunting season, November 15, 2018, Justin Beutel, a 38-year-old male, was shot and killed in Antrim County, Michigan. An avid sportsman and skilled Harley-Davidson mechanic, Beutel was hunting on private family property near Torch Lake. Shortly after successfully shooting a buck and sending a photo of it to his family, he began to field dress the deer. It was during this time that another hunter, who was on the same property, fatally shot him.
