On the evening of July 13, 2020, Martina was with a group of friends, including Denziel
'Dee' Williams-Boyd, at a bonfire. Later in the evening, after being dropped off at her mobile home, Martina was sitting on her steps when Williams-Boyd fatally shot her multiple times. The senseless act of violence was reportedly committed over a dispute involving a mere $10 for gasoline. The investigation into her death quickly led authorities to Denziel Williams-Boyd, who was subsequently arrested.
Williams-Boyd faced multiple charges, including first-degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder, and several weapons offenses.
