In the late hours of an autumn evening, the life of 30-year-old Timmy Robinson was tragically cut short in Melvindale, Michigan. On October 21, 2020, police responded to a call on Gale Street and discovered Robinson lying in the street with a severe head wound and surrounded by blood. Emergency medical assistance was provided at the scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital, but his injury, a fatal gunshot wound to the head, proved too severe, and he was pronounced deceased.
The subsequent investigation into the male victim's death quickly led authorities to the apartment he shared with his live-in girlfriend, Preaija Pope, who was 22 years old at the time. Evidence, including a shotgun, was recovered by police outside the residence. Investigators alleged that it was Pope who fatally shot her boyfriend.
Further investigation implicated another individual in the events that transpired that night. Preaija Pope's father, 44-year-old Perry Pope of Taylor, was also arrested in connection with the homicide. It is alleged that Perry Pope tampered with evidence at the scene of the shooting and acted as an accessory after the fact. Following the investigation, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office brought charges against both daughter and father. Preaija Pope was charged with murder, and Perry Pope was charged with being an Accessory After the Fact.
