In the light of a crisp November afternoon, a tragedy unfolded on a sidewalk in Wyoming, Michigan, that would forever alter the lives of a family and a community. Cynthia Jean McCoy, a 34-year-old Black/African American woman, was walking home on Friday, November 27, 2020, when her life was abruptly and violently cut short.
