Sandra Kay Carter, a 65-year-old resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was tragically shot and killed on January 3, 2021. The incident occurred at her home on Alpine Avenue NW around 11:45 p.m. when an unknown suspect fired shots into the house. Carter was found in critical condition and was immediately taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The Grand Rapids Police Department confirmed that her death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy.
