In the winter of 2021, the life of Sandra Kay Carter, a 65-year-old female resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. On the evening of January 3rd, while she was in her home on Alpine Avenue NW, an unknown individual fired gunshots into the house. Carter was struck and critically injured. She was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The Grand Rapids Police Department subsequently ruled her death a homicide.
