On a summer afternoon in South Haven, Michigan, a dispute escalated to a fatal encounter that ended the life of Shondel Solomon Newell. The 43-year-old man, a resident of nearby Covert, was shot on July 8, 2021, following a confrontation. Newell, a Black male, was found inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Though emergency services were called to the scene, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
