In the summer of 2022, a domestic disturbance call led Burton police to a grim discovery at the Kings Lane Apartments. Inside one of the units, officers found 62-year-old Ware Lee Lane Jr., a male resident, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his chest. Despite medical efforts, Lane succumbed to his injury on June 2, 2022.
