Federal Prohibition Agent Jacob F. Green was tragically killed on April 1, 1921, near Richton, Mississippi, during a raid on a moonshine still. Agent Green, along with Town Marshal William Dunnam of the Richton Police Department, was conducting the raid when they were ambushed by moonshiners. Both men were shot and killed in the ensuing gunfire.
