William Lawrence Dunnam, aged 44, served as the Town Marshal of Richton, Mississippi. On April 21, 1921, he was tragically killed while performing his duties. Marshal Dunnam, along with Federal Prohibition Agent Jacob Green, was conducting a raid on a moonshine still near Richton. During this raid, both officers were shot and killed by moonshiners.
