On an otherwise ordinary Wednesday in Jackson, Mississippi, a tragic and violent series of events unfolded, leaving a community in shock and mourning the loss of several of its dedicated public servants. Among them was Willie Dwight Craft, a 48-year-old District Chief with the Jackson Fire Department. His life was cut short on April 24, 1996, when a disgruntled fellow firefighter, Kenneth Tornes, embarked on a deadly shooting rampage.
