In the late morning of a summer Sunday in Jackson, Mississippi, a park on South Drive was filled with the sights and sounds of a large gathering. On August 16, 2026, approximately 200 people were present when the lively atmosphere was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When the chaos subsided, 20-year-old Amauri Ainsworth was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
