Lydia Kaye Dew, a 17-year-old student from Pearl, Mississippi, tragically lost her life on October 1, 1997, during the Pearl High School shooting. The incident was perpetrated by 16-year-old Luke Woodham, who was also a student at the school. On the morning of the shooting, Woodham fatally stabbed and bludgeoned his mother, Mary Ann Woodham, before driving to Pearl High School with a rifle concealed under a trench coat.
