In the quiet community of D'Iberville, Mississippi, the life of 37-year-old Jamel “Mel” Jones, a Black male, was abruptly ended on the evening of January 31, 2015. Jones was found in the parking lot of the Amber Apartments, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
