On a tragic evening in Mount Olive, Mississippi, 10-year-old Zachary Sandifer was fatally wounded in a violent shooting that also injured a woman and ended in the assailant's death. The incident, which occurred on May 31, 2017, was identified by the Covington County Sheriff's Department as an attempted murder-suicide. The young male victim succumbed to his injuries the following day, on June 1, 2017.
