In the quiet, rural setting of southern Simpson County, Mississippi, a dispute on Halloween of 2021 turned deadly, claiming the life of 33-year-old Joshua Thurman. The male victim was at a residence on Big V Road when a vehicle carrying two females and a man named Tremaine Haynes arrived. While Thurman was engaged in a conversation with one of the women who had just exited the vehicle, Haynes approached him from behind and fired a single, fatal shot to the back of his head.
