On June 4, 2017, Lacy White Jr. was found deceased on Old Highway Road near Crenshaw, Mississippi. Responding to reports of gunfire, Panola County Sheriff's deputies discovered White's body in a resident's yard. Evidence collected at the scene included three 9mm spent shell casings, a suspected marijuana cigarette, and a bag containing a white crystalline substance believed to be crack cocaine.
