On a summer evening in 2017, the life of Lacy White Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short in Crenshaw, Mississippi. On June 4th, deputies from the Panola County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of gunfire on Old Highway Rd. Upon their arrival, they discovered White's body lying in the yard of a residence. He had been fatally shot.

At the scene, investigators found three spent 9mm casings near White's body, along with a suspected marijuana cigarette and a bag containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine. The evidence suggested a confrontation that ended in gunfire, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden loss.

Shortly after, Glen Richardson of Memphis was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder.
