In the fall of 2017, the life of 19-year-old Davisha Harris was tragically cut short. On October 15th, the young, Black/African American woman was found deceased in an apartment in Lamar County, Mississippi, just outside of Hattiesburg. The cause of her death was determined to be a gunshot wound. Deputies from the Lamar County Sheriff's Department discovered her body just before noon that Sunday, marking the first homicide in the county for that year.
