In the early morning hours of November 18, 2017, the quiet of a Jackson, Mississippi neighborhood was broken by the discovery of a young man's body. Demond C. Reed, a 26-year-old Black male, was found by a police officer on patrol around 1:00 a.m. in the 300 block of Greenhill Place. He was lying on the ground near a vehicle in the parking lot of an abandoned apartment building.
