Jeremy Brown, a 33-year-old Black man, was killed on the morning of January 20, 2018, at an apartment complex on Houston Avenue in Jackson, Mississippi. Police were called just after 7 a.m. and officers arrived to find him already dead from multiple gunshot wounds, the quiet of the apartment corridor replaced by crime-scene tape and the first stirrings of shocked residents peering from their doors.
