In the summer of 2018, the life of 23-year-old Destiny Darlene Gay was tragically cut short in Richland, Mississippi. On the evening of Monday, July 23, 2018, Gay, a mother of three, was fatally wounded by gunfire. The incident unfolded at the Prominence Apartments located on Corey Drive, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Law enforcement officials were quick to launch an investigation into the shooting.
Their efforts led to the identification of a person of interest, who was later taken into custody in connection with Gay's death. The individual was identified as Corey Reco Jackson. Following his arrest, a Rankin County judge set Jackson's bond at $100,000.
