In the quiet of a Carroll County evening on March 1, 2019, a birthday celebration turned into a scene of unimaginable violence, leaving 44-year-old Jim Harrell dead. The gathering, held at Harrell's own home, was in honor of his friend, Marlee Jones Barnhill. What began as a festive occasion with friends descended into chaos when Marlee's husband, Michael Martin Barnhill, became intoxicated and belligerent.
