In the late summer of 2020, the life of 15-year-old Austin Juanya Green was tragically cut short in Jackson, Mississippi. The young man, a resident of nearby Byram, was reported missing in August. His family's hope for his safe return turned to grief when his body was discovered in a vacant house with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. His death, which occurred on August 27, 2020, was investigated as a homicide.
