On October 26, 2020, Robert Lester Cox II, a 40-year-old male, traveled to Houston, Mississippi, with his stepdaughter with the intention of purchasing a vehicle he had seen advertised on social media. This transaction, however, was a deception that ended in tragedy. Upon their arrival, they were ambushed by three individuals. During the attack, Cox was fatally shot. His stepdaughter managed to escape the assailants and conceal herself until law enforcement arrived at the scene.
