On February 27, 2021, 14-year-old Christian Joseph Jones of Poplarville, Mississippi, tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting in Waveland, Mississippi. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. near Gulfside Assembly and Beach Blvd. According to Waveland Police Chief Mike Prendergast, officers arrived at the scene to find Christian with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was promptly transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans, where he succumbed to his injuries.
