In the quiet community of Lyon, Mississippi, the lives of two young men were tragically cut short on March 12, 2021. Bruce Washington, a 20-year-old Black male, and 21-year-old Tawon Jackson were discovered inside a vehicle in the East Park subdivision, both having succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds. The Coahoma County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene, initiating a double homicide investigation that would soon lead to the identification of two local men as suspects.
