On a tragic Fourth of July in 2021, 37-year-old Stacey Nicole Moulds, a female surgical technologist, lost her life in a violent encounter in Laurel, Mississippi. Her death was the result of a murder-suicide perpetrated by her ex-boyfriend, 47-year-old Randall C. Smith. The series of events unfolded when Smith contacted the Jones County Sheriff's Department, making a chilling confession that he had just killed Moulds and intended to end his own life.
