A quiet Saturday afternoon in the small city of Batesville, Mississippi, was shattered by gunfire on October 30, 2021, ending the life of 45-year-old Kim Davis-Robinson, a Black female. Having recently become a widow, she was just arriving at her residence on Vick Street when an assailant unleashed a barrage of bullets into her vehicle as she sat in her driveway.
The shocking attack happened in broad daylight, leaving the local community stunned by its brutality.
Struck by multiple gunshots, Davis-Robinson fought for her life, attempting to flee her attacker by putting her car in reverse. However, her severe injuries prevented her from maintaining control, and her vehicle crashed into a ditch a short distance from her home. The gunman, described by witnesses as a Black male, made a swift escape from the scene in a blue vehicle. Paramedics treated her at the scene before she was transported to the Panola Medical Center, but she tragically died en route to the hospital.
The Batesville Police Department promptly began a homicide investigation, appealing to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of the person responsible for this violent act.
