In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Jackson, Mississippi, a burst of violence cut short the life of 21-year-old Antwain Smith Jr. The male victim was shot on March 13, 2022, in the vicinity of Madison and Fortification Streets. In the immediate aftermath, he was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, a place of healing that would tragically become the final setting of his young life.
