In the spring of 1909, a tense situation unfolded in Chickasha, Oklahoma, that would end in the tragic death of a lawman. On April 19th, Deputy Sheriff Green Pryor William Cude, a 36-year-old male, along with another deputy, responded to a call about a man armed with a shotgun who had ordered everyone out of a local house.
