On a late summer day, August 26, 2016, the quiet community of Bache, just outside McAlester, Oklahoma, became the scene of a tragic discovery. In the carport of a vacant house, the bodies of two young women were found inside a parked car. One of these women was 24-year-old Totinika Elix, a Black mother of two from Oklahoma City. She was discovered alongside her friend, 23-year-old Emily Morgan.
Both women had been fatally shot.
Totinika, known to her loved ones as a happy and sweet person, was the eldest of nine siblings and maintained a close bond with her family. She and her high school sweetheart were raising their two young children. On that fateful day, she had accompanied Emily on a trip to McAlester, leaving their children in the care of Totinika's boyfriend. Their journey took a dark turn, leading them to the abandoned property where their lives were cut short. The investigation into their deaths was quickly launched by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation with law enforcement treating the case as a double homicide.
Despite the passage of years, the case of Totinika Elix and Emily Morgan's murders remains unsolved, casting a long shadow over their families and the community. Investigators have conducted numerous interviews and served multiple search warrants in their pursuit of justice, but no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The families of both women have been vocal in their pleas for information, hoping to bring closure to the heartbreaking loss of two young mothers.
