In the winter of 2016, the community of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, was shaken by the untimely death of Jady Abbott. A 34-year-old white female, Jady's life was cut short on the evening of Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Initial accounts described the event as a tragic and horrific accident. She was with Joseph Lane, with whom she was starting a new business, when a high-powered rifle discharged as it was being loaded, striking and killing her.
