In the early hours of a cold February morning in Muskogee, Oklahoma, a tragedy unfolded that would claim the lives of six people, including 5-year-old Harmony Faith Anderson. On February 2, 2021, Harmony, along with her siblings and an adult male, were fatally shot inside their home. The other young victims were her siblings, Que'dynce Anderson, 9, Nevaeh Pridgeon, 6, Jaidus Pridgeon, 3, and Jalaiya Pridgeon, 1. The adult victim was identified as 24-year-old Javarion Lee.
The children's mother was also critically injured in the attack but survived.
Police responded to a call of multiple gunshots at the residence shortly after 1:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man holding a firearm. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jarron Deajon Pridgeon, fled the scene but was apprehended after a brief chase. Inside the home, law enforcement discovered the horrific scene of multiple deceased individuals. Four of the children and the adult male were pronounced dead at the scene. Harmony was transported to a Tulsa hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, Jarron Pridgeon, was the brother of the adult victim, Javarion Lee, and was related to the children. He was taken into custody and subsequently faced multiple charges, including first-degree murder. The motive for the devastating act of violence was not immediately clear to investigators. The family had reportedly moved into the Muskogee home only about a month before the incident. The surviving mother was left to grapple with the immense loss of five of her children in an event that deeply shook the community.
