In a tragic turn of events that began over a dispute among friends, 25-year-old William Hesson was found deceased on a rural road in Shawnee, Oklahoma. His death, which occurred on September 7, 2022, was the result of multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation into his murder revealed a story of betrayal and violence that led to the arrest of three individuals who were once his colleagues.
The conflict reportedly arose from a missing pound of marijuana, for which Hesson was blamed by his
coworkers at a local detailing shop. This accusation led to a premeditated plan to confront him. Court documents indicate that the suspects, Brian Locke and Namir Hulbert, along with a third individual, drove Hesson to Crossland Road on the night of September 6th. An argument ensued, and as Hesson turned to leave, he was shot in the back of the head. His body was discovered the following morning with a total of seven gunshot wounds to his head and back.
The weapons used in the commission of the crime, a. 38 revolver and a pistol, belonged to Hesson himself. Following the murder, the suspects attempted to flee the state. Locke and Hulbert traveled to Louisiana, while the third suspect went to Arizona. Law enforcement officials were able to track down and apprehend all three individuals. Locke and Hulbert were arrested in Louisiana and awaited extradition back to Pottawatomie County to face charges of first-degree murder. The third suspect was arrested and booked in Pottawatomie County Jail, also on a first-degree murder charge.
