In the early morning hours of January 30, 2022, the life of 35-year-old Brandon James Kaseca Sr. was tragically cut short in his Shawnee, Oklahoma home. A proud member of the Sac and Fox Nation with Kiowa, Potawatomi, and Absentee Shawnee heritage, Kaseca was asleep when an intruder entered the residence. Another person in the house was awakened by the gunman, who then proceeded to Kaseca's bedroom and shot him multiple times.
The motive behind this violent act remains a mystery to
investigators and those who knew him. Friends and family described Kaseca as a compassionate man who enjoyed helping others and had not expressed being in any trouble. He was a father to four children and was remembered for his love of family, his spiritual connection to his Native traditions, and his talent for art and humor. His death left a profound void in the lives of his loved ones and the broader community.
Despite the ongoing efforts of the Shawnee Police Department and the involvement of the District Attorney's Task Force, no arrests have been made in connection with Brandon Kaseca's murder. The case remains unsolved, leaving his family still searching for answers and justice. His mother has been a vocal advocate for keeping his case in the public eye, organizing memorial walks and distributing flyers in the hope that someone will come forward with information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for his death. The community has rallied in support of the family, holding vigils to honor his memory and raise awareness about this unresolved crime.
