Henry Carlson

Deputy U.S. Marshal Henry Burton 'Bud' Carlson, aged 68, tragically lost his life on August 13, 1985, in Amnicon, Wisconsin. The incident occurred during a prisoner transfer operation. Carlson and another deputy marshal were transporting two suspected bank robbers from a federal prison in Michigan to one in Minnesota. The prisoners, who were individually handcuffed, managed to orchestrate an escape attempt while being transported in a car without a security cage.
