On a busy Memorial Day in 2006, a festive atmosphere at South Shore Park in Milwaukee was shattered by sudden violence. Among the many enjoying a picnic was Hispanic male Raymundo Munoz-Silva, 31 years old. An argument erupted when Octaviano Juarez-Corro, who was not invited, confronted his estranged wife at the gathering, demanding to see their daughter. When his wife refused, Juarez-Corro became enraged, pulled out a handgun, and opened fire.
