In the summer of 2014, a promising young culinary arts student's life was tragically cut short in an act of violence. James S. Stear-Swinford, a 20-year-old Caucasian male, was shot in Milwaukee on July 8, 2014. After fighting for his life for four days, he succumbed to his injuries on July 12, 2014, at Froedtert Hospital. His passing left his family and friends heartbroken, mourning the loss of a kind, intelligent, and motivated young man with a passion for cooking.
